A successful site meeting today, discussing the unveiling of a commemorative plaque to Leicestershire artist John Theodore Kenney who brought Thomas the Tank Engine to life.
The location of the plaque on Kenney's former cottage is the least of the challenges! This is a project which means finding car parking off road in a tiny village, catering facilities where there are none for several miles and safe pedestrian routes for children and adults to a secluded location.
Local knowledge means local contacts and people who are willing to help. This will be a true community event, which is scheduled for some time in June, after the County Council elections.
